Historic Mansion
One of the most historic and prestigious estates in Corfu island
On top of a hill, this mansion is located in Roumanades settlement, and has a great history to narrate as it was an administration and management center of an agricultural holding with the main products being oil, corn, milk, cheese and meat. The house construction began at the end of the Venetian period, so its architectural references are Venetian. Over the centuries, the house was built in parts: the first part was a wine cellar and slowly new floors were added as well as nearby buildings: an olive press, a stable and a warehouse, while the last additions were made in 1920.
From the total 280,000 sqm the 116,000 sqm have been classified as forest, while from the rest part 6,000 sqm are within the settlement boundaries, and so there is possibility of an extra building.
In this 6,000 sqm land plot part there are three buildings: a) the old 19th century mansion of 600 sqm surface on two levels, partly used as a residence, b) an oil mill of 190 sqm surface and c) an independent stone-build warehouse of 100 sqm. All buildings can be used as residences or change into a hotel use.
