Most popular beaches in Skiathos Island are located on the southern side, while the northern side has more calm and secluded spots. Rocky outcrops at the end of the beaches make them perfect for snorkelling. Skiathos can be reached by airplane (daily in the summer) or by boat from both the Ports of Volos and Agios Konstantinos. (You can reach both ports by car. Agios Konstantinos is located at the "Agios Konstantinos" exit on E-75, 160km from the centre of Athens. Volos port can be accessed by taking the exit "Velestino" onto route 6, 307km from Athens and 181 from Thessaloniki).
